Brattleboro Sauna is located at Wild Carrot Farm, only 5 minutes from downtown Brattleboro, at 511 Upper Dummerston Rd, Brattleboro, VT. You can park in the main lot near the farm store, then walk down the dirt road behind the farm store where you’ll see our sauna (and probably some horses and goats).
We recommend coming already changed into your bathing suit/sportswear. Please bring a towel. There is an outhouse available near the sauna. Make sure you come hydrated as you will sweat!
You’ll be greeted by the sauna host and can ask them any questions you may have. There are bags at the sauna to place your things.
Arrive 5-10 minutes before your sauna session is scheduled to begin.

It can be your first time in a sauna or your thousandth- we’re happy you’re here! Our sauna is wood-fired and we aim to keep it at around 200 Fahrenheit. We also have a bucket with water that you are welcome to ladle onto the sauna stones to create steam, or “löyly.”
Listen to your body. When it lets you know it’s time to cool off, come out of the sauna. Most people stay in the sauna for 10-15 minutes before coming out to cool off, but, again, the most important thing is to listen to your own body.
Hop in the sauna and start sweating!

Cool off, rest, repeat.

Outside the sauna we have lounge chairs around a fire pit, plus a cold plunge tub and an outdoor shower as cool off options! Sometimes just taking some deep breaths in the cold air is enough (or some snow angles!). When you’re cooled off enough, you can hop in the sauna again and sweat. It’s highly individual, but most people have about 3-4 rounds of sauna and cooling off within the hour.
The sauna host will give you a 5 minute heads up before your hour is up. You’ll probably feel fantastic at the end of your session- be sure to stop by the farm store to pick up a treat or snack to refuel yourself (and get some groceries for home) on your way out.
Our wood-fired sauna is built with a cedar interior- it smells divine.
Upper and lower benches give you options to adjust your seating to the heat you like.
A bucket of water with a ladle allows you to pour water on the hot stones to create steam or “löyly.”
Windows let the sunlight blanket you in peace.
Outside, a fire pit, cold plunge tub, and lounge chairs, with views of the farm.
Sometimes, a horse-drawn sleigh might clip-clop by.
Welcome to Brattleboro Sauna!
We’re so glad you’re here.

Community sauna is when friends and strangers gather in the sauna to sweat together. Sauna offers an alternative space to connect and be in community with others.
Barring any health contraindications, all are welcome in the sauna, with the prerequisite of entering with respect and kindness. You can be a sauna aficionado or it can be your very first time entering a sauna- know that you are welcome here.We also have a cold plunge tub outside of the sauna that you are welcome to dip in

Amenities: Brattleboro sauna is space to connect to the land and to community- it is an outdoor Vermont experience more than a spa experience (but don’t let that fool you- trust that you will most likely leave feeling a sense of joy and renewal). The Sauna is located at Wild Carrot Farm in Brattleboro. Wild Carrot is a horse-powered working farm.
It is easiest if you come to your session already changed into your bathing suit or sports clothing. There is a rustic outhouse at Wild Carrot Farm.
When you arrive: When you arrive you’ll be greeted by a sauna host who will answer any questions you may have. We’ll have a fire pit going outside with chairs for relaxing when you want to cool off outside the sauna. You’ll enter the sauna barefoot.
Community Interaction: When you book a seat in a community session, you're reserving an unassigned seat and you'll share the sauna with others. Please be considerate of your fellow sauna-goers. We recommend going with the flow: some community sauna sessions are filled with laughter, some are more quiet and introspective. Out of respect for all, including the Saunatonttu- the traditional spirit that inhabits the sauna- we ask that you use your indoor voice inside the sauna and that you keep cell phones and music outside the sauna. All attendees must follow our posted sauna rules. Watch your step when entering and exiting the sauna, and watch your head going through the doorways. -
please arrive already wearing your bathing suit/sports wear
at least one towel (we require that you sit on a towel inside the sauna) though a second towel is useful for drying off after the cold plunge.
Optional: slip-on water shoes, like crocks, slides, or flip flops for outside

optional: a robe to wear outside
