About Us
Our story…
Brattleboro Sauna is the creation of Allison and Marco and the idea was literally born while sweating in a sauna. We wanted to create a space of community and connection in Brattleboro, Vermont, that would be strongest in the winter months when so many people in Vermont hibernate and start to feel isolated.
How we got here…
We’ve called Brattleboro, Vermont, our home since 2014 and love it dearly. Marco is originally from Cuenca, Ecuador, and Allison is originally from Washington, D.C. We moved to Brattleboro after living in Ecuador for nine years- we had two young children, packed up three big suitcases, and moved to Vermont where we didn’t know a soul. But Brattleboro welcomed us and in just a few months we had created a strong community of wonderful people who are still our friends today. We are inspired by this community’s creativity, resilience, and love of good times. With Brattleboro Sauna, we hope to give back to this community that has given us so much.
What we love…
Family, adventure, sauna, backpacking, music, friendship, reaching the top of a mountain, running, learning about different cultures, soccer, skiing, a good locally brewed beer, art community, dreaming wildly and living life to the fullest.
